Motor-cycle trophy

An impressive greenstone trophy has been given by Mr A. Moreton for annaul scramble competition between the newly - formed Westland Motor-cycle Club and Christchurch clubs.

The inaugural contest was held in heavy rain last weekend at Whataroa and was won by a team of riders representing Christchurch combined clubs. However, individual honours went to the Kaiapoi rider, B. Copsey (500 c.c. Wasp), who scored 29 points in the three races. . B. Roberts (Combined) was second with 21, on a 500 c.c. Triumph, and G. Sword (Combined) third with 19, on his 250 c.c. Greeves. The highest placed West Coast rider was P. Burrows (Suzuki), who scored seven points to gain eighth place n his first competitive race.
