Truck loses load

A truck, laden with timber, tipped over and crashed into the driveway of a Cashmere house vesterday morning. Mrs C. E. Law, of 161 Hackthome Road, had just opened the front door when the vehicle roiled into her driveway, tipping its load of about 4000 super feet of timber about 15ft from the boufle. The truck demolished about 25ft of paling fence in the accident, and the timber

broke away part of the driveway’s retaining wall, crushing trees and shrubs. The driver, David Roberts, of 163 North Avon Road, Shirley, escaped injury, and the house was undamaged. The truck was tipped by the camber of the road. The truck was righted, only slightly damaged, by a tow truck, and spilled petrol was cleared away by a fire engine.
