ANGLICAN MEETINGS

More than 350 people from 26 parishes attended five meetings throughout the Anglican Diocese of Nelson last week. The five meetings were held in different parts of the diocese to ensure regional interest, writes the Bishop of Nelson (the Rt Rev. P. E. Sutton) in a letter to the editor of "The Press.” For example, there was an attendance of more than 90 at Reefton last Monday evening. “I met one man who drove 115 miles after work to that meeting and returned home immediately afterwards,” states Bishop Sutton. The other meetings were held on successive evenings in Motueka, Nelson, Blenheim and Waiau. The bishop was unable to attend the Waiau meeting because of duties in Blenheim but he was present at ail the other meetings.
