Fire in car
Fire caused moderate damage to a car parked in Colombo Street, near the Sydenham shopping centre, yesterday morning. The fire broke out in the car's wiring, but an engine from the Sydenham station quickly put out the flames using one hose reel and a carbon dioxide extinguisher. Shortly after 9 ami., two engines from the Christchurch Central and Woolston stations were called to a fire in the kitchen of a house at 128 Pages Road.
A heater had set alight an adjacent wall, but only slight damage was caused.
