Kirrama in fine form
"The Press" Special Service HASTINGS. The brilliant three-year-old Kirrama, which la in wonderful order for the Ormond Gold Cup next week, did easy work on the sand, and the South Islander, Watallan, which accompanied Pole Star north on Monday, was also given light work. The Course proper was cutting out. Several horses with engagements at the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s autumn meeting which opens at Hastings on Saturday. worked well in training yesterday morning. Game (A. Pringle) worked freely over six furlongs in Imln 21sec, the last three in 41sec. He has freshened since racing at Ellerslie and should parade at his peak for the Ormond Gold Cup, a welght-for-age event which he has won in each of the last two seasons. Practice (R. Howell) was most Impressive running seven furlongs in Imln 34 4-ssec with Frigate (Miss Wrigley), the last three in 42sec. Pole Star (W. Hillis), a Riverton visitor, which has won his last five races,- worked a mile at about 15 to the furlong. He is fit and must appeal for the cup. Lilac Fair (G. Innes) a prospect for the Heretaunga Handicap, ran six furlongs In Imln 18 3-ssec. the last three in 41 2-5
