OBITUARY
Mr K. H. Parkinson Mr Keith Holman Parkinson died at his home, “Rock-i wood.” in Kaituna Valley, j aged 73. Mr Parkinson was the only son of John Parkinson of “Matareka,” Kaituna Valley, and was a grandson of, Thomas Hodgson Parkinson j who took over the Kaituna I run in 1896 from the Rhodes; brothers. He was educated at the Kaituna School and at Christ’s College. He enlisted in the First N.Z.E.F. in 1916 and served in Palestine with the Canterbury Mounted Rifles. In 1922 he married Valmai Matson and took over “Rockwood.” He took some part in virtually every organisation in the district. Mr Parkinson was a former president of the Banks Peninsula A. and P. Association, and was 4>so a former president of the Banks Peninsula Racing Club, a former branch' chairman of Federated) Farmers, and a vestry-man of l St Kentigem’s Church. ; He is survived by two brothers and a daughter, all of Kaituna Valley.
