SOLDIER KILLED

WELLINGTON, March 10. A New Zealand officer of Victor Company, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, was killed in action and a soldier was very seriously wounded in a contact with the enemy in the Phuoc Tuy Province of South Vietnam today, Army headquarters announced. The man killed was Lieutenant John Ramsey Winton, aged 24, single, of Wellington.

The wounded man is Private Anthony Leon Mokaraka, aged 21, single, of Maungaturoto, Northland. He has gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen, and legs. He is in a very serious condition at the First Australian Field Hospital at Vung Tau.
