Canterbury Wins, 22-2
The Canterbury tennis team overwhelmed North Otago in a representative match at Oamaru yesterday. It lost only a men’s singles and a men’s doubles, and won the contest, 22 matches to two. Results were (Canterbury names first): — Men’s singles.—R. Webster beat K. Ottley, 5-7, 6-1, 64; D. Blackwell beat'D. McMaster, 6-3, 6-2; C. Hunt beat J. Macdonald, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4; R. Avery lost to G. Mclntyre, 6-2, 3-6, 3-6; T. Rolfe beat O. Jones. 64, 6-1; F. Ver-' j steeg beat M. Mclone' 6-3, 6-1. i Women’s singles.—Miss S. Moore beat Miss B. Borrie, 64,' 6-3; Miss G. Iredale beat Mrs J. Knight, 64, 6-3; Miss R. Smith beat Mrs F. Bain, 6-1, 6-1; Miss J. Mlles beat Miss J. Willetts 6-2, 4-6, 6-1; Miss I. Phillips beat Miss B. Kibblewhite, 6-0, 6-2; Miss P. James beat Mrs G.
