$182,525 lor 73 groups The chairman of the Golden Kiwi Board of Control’s Welfare Services Distribution Committee (Mr G. D. Stewart) has announced 73 grants totalling $182,525 from profits for the period from August to December, 1970.
The grants for national organisations are: New Zealand Prisoners Aid and Rehabilitation Society, $35,000; Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society, $35,000; New Zealand Play Centre Federation, $12,000; Birthright (N.Z.), Inc., $10,500; Post Release Hostels, $10,250. New Zealand League for the Hard of Hearing, $7300; Priory Headquarters of the Order of St John, $7000; St Vincent de Paul Society, $7000; National Society on Alcoholism, $6500; Motherhood of Man Movement $5000; Seafarers’ Welfare Board of New Zealand, $4000; Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Zealand, $2600; Federation of New Zealand Parent Centres, Inc., $2400; Catholic Women’s League of New Zealand, $1500; Society for Research on Women in New Zealand, $1000; Dominion Association of the Blind, $250; New Zealand Association of Child Care Centres, $250; New Zealand Blind Indoor Bowlers’ Federation, $l5O.
