A team of 19, a little larger than expected will represent Canterbury in the national hard-track cycling championships at Marton in a fortnight. There are no surprise selections, however, except that L. M. Vette and G. J. Duncan are riding in the tandam together. But both intended travelling to the championships anyway. In two of the open events, the kilometre time trial and the 4000 metres individual pursuit, some riders have been chosen on the strength of qualifying times, and others as the selected riders. The team, to be captained by B. G. Stockwell, with Messrs D. B. Smith and W. W. Thorpe as manager and coach-mechanic respectively, is:— open * Kilometre time trial Stock-
