Lamb for M.C.C.

The New Zealand, Meat Producers’ Board was realistic about its gift of a carton of lamb cuts to every member of the touring M.C.C. team in Christchurch last night ii arranged for the cartons to be delivered to the players’ homes in England. The board’s deputy chairman (Mr. C. Hilgendorf) is shown presenting a carton to the team captain, R. Illingworth, at a function

held by the Canterbury Cricket Supporters’ Club. “The tradition of presenting M.C.C. team members with New Zealand lamb goes back many years,” said Mr Hilgendorf. “The board is very happy to be able to again make this presentation to team members, and I hope this will be a pleasant reminder of their 1971 New Zealand tour,” he said.
