(By our industrial reporter) The president of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E. Skinner) and the vice-presi-dent (Mr J. E. Napier) have been returned to office unopposed.

The position of secretary, held by Mr W. J. Knox, does not come up for election this year.

When nominations closed, the four sitting members of [the national executive—

Messrs J. Boomer, L. A. Hadley, W. Martin and F. B. Thom—had all been re-

nominated. and at least two other candidates had been put forward. These were the national secretaries of the freezing workers (Mr F. E. McNulty) and of the carpenters (Mr A. Russ).
