Under its terms of reference, the Committee is required to inquire into and report to the Min-> ister of Transport on safety in agricultural aviation operations, with particular reference to the adequacy of measures taken by the Ministry of Transport, by operating companies, and by pilots, to ensure a reasonable level of safety in such operations and to the orderly and economic development of the agricultural section of the aviation industry.

The Committee will hold a preliminary meeting at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 1971, In the Auckland City Council Chamber, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, for the purpose of identifying the parties to this inquiry and determining procedure in preparation' for the formal sitting which will commence at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 1971, in the Auckland City Council Chamber. Any person, group of persons, firm or organisation desiring to be cited as an interested party should write to the Secretary of the Committee, c/o Ministry of Transport, Private Bag, Wellington, stating the nature of his interest.
