Horse Haven
Sir,—l agree fully with “Horse-Lover’s” letter. The young man who has taken it upon himself to provide a home for unwanted horses deserves the highest possible praise and public support. These days we read of many cases of cruelty to animals, and it is indeed heartening to know that there is at least one person in our midst who believes that dumb animals have their rights. We support many worth-while causes throughout the year and if an appeal could be launched for the Horse Haven, I am sure the people of Christchurch would be prepared to contribute a few cents towards a happy “retirement” for some of these magnificent animals. —Yours, etc., MARGARET. February 12, 1971. Sir, —I also have visited the Horse Haven and agree with everything “Horse Lover” says. The sheer friendliness of these horses shows the love and devotion bestowed on them. They display that confidence that comes of security. This Horse Haven has completely restored my faith in the human race. A visit to the haven is an uplifting experience.—Yours, etc., ALSO RAN.
