Laos

Sir, —The Chinese expansionist methods “Mig” speaks of are nothing new. Such methods have, in the past, been used by Britain, the United States, and Russia. 1 see no reason why China should not now jump on the bandwaggon. The chaos in Laos, therefore, is something to be concerned about if we have learnt our history. We know that those who sow the wind will reap the whirlwind. It is a pity that New Zealand is helping the United States to sow the wind in

Indo-China. This is due entirely to our infficient, bungling National Government. By its military contribution to the United States war in Indo-China it is helping to bring forward the confrontation with China and the consequent third world war. —Yours, etc., ARTHUR L. WALKER. February 12, 1971.
