Petrol 4c down in Kaikoura

(N.Z. Prtu Astociation) BLENHEIM, Feb. 2. On Monday the price of petrol in Marlborough was reduced 1c a gallon in Blenheim and 4e in Kaikoura. On April 1 the price will be increased by the 3c local bodies petrol tax. The five Marlborough local authorities met yesterday afternoon to levy the 3c local body petrol tax, which will apply from April 7. The decision to levy the tax was supported by the Blenheim Borough Council (two votes) and the Kaikoura County and Picton Borough councils (one vote each) and opposed by the Marlborough and Awatere County councils (two and one votes respectively). The amount of 3c a gallon was set without dissent.
