Buyers from Nelson to Mount Aspiring attended the first offeri ing of registered Perendale • sheep on account of D. G. Baker, l of Cave, South Canterbury, at jthe Show Grounds at Oamaru. Thirty-six one-shear ewes averaged $77.50 a head, the top price in this section being $lOO. Ten mixed-aged ewes averaged ‘543.20. The best price was $4B a head. The offering of 42 ewe lambs was keenly sought after. The top price was $35 a head for a pen of six. The average price was $30.52. Four stud rams brought from $250 to $375. Most of the sheep were bought by Nelson, Cromwell, Dunedin and Christchurch farmers.
