N.Z. harriers barred? 1 (N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) LONDON. The New Zealand harrier team which will pass through Britain at the end of February on its way to the international championships at San Sebastian in Spain will be barred from the English crosscountry championships unless the English CrossCountry Union changes its rules. In an article in the “Guardian” John Rodda said that the union’s rules allow for affiliated members only to take part. Rodda says that in 1964 a New Zealand team did participate, but some administrators and officials did not like the idea, and will oppose (waiving the rules in Febjruary.

The International Athletes Club has taken up the case on behalf of the New Zealanders, however, and is trying to get the union to change its mind.
