Two properties sold of six auctioned
In six property auctions in Christchurch yesterday, only two—shop properties in Colombo Street, Sydenham—were sold. The first shop, at 451 Colombo Street, was sold for $11,500 and the second, at 452 Colombo Street (opposite the first) for $11,250, both by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. Government valuation on the first was $9250, and on the second $BBOO. Three cottage pronerties offered as one lot at 281, 283 and 285 Armagh Street, by the same auctioneer, were passed in at $12,500. The Government valuation was $9900. Negotiations for a sale, however, were underway after the auction. A wooden bungalow at 24 Longfellow Street, Beckenham, was passed in at $4050 The auctioneers, Ford and Hadfield, said that negotiations for the sale of the property were continuing. A weatherboard bungalow at 6 Broadbent Street, Riccarton, on 49.7 oerches, was nassed in at $5500 when offered by N. H. McCrostie and Company. The Government valuation was $5150. Thirty-five acres of freehold land at Greenpark, Tai Tapu, offered on account of Mr D. F. Hubbard, were passed in at $5OO an acre when auctioned bv the NMA Company of New Zealand, Ltd.
Seventy-three acres of freehold bare land at Broomfield, four miles from Amberley, were passed in at $14,500 when offered by Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd, yesterday. Eighteen persons attended the auction, bidding it which began at $13,000. The- Govemment valuation of the land in 1966 was $7OOO.
