U.N. move on hijacking

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 20. The United Nations General Assembly’s Legal Committee today called on all countries to curb aircraft hijacking by punishing or extraditing the culprits. A toughly-worded resolution was passed by 99 votes to nil,. 10 members abstaining. Passage of the resolution by the Assembly itself is assured because all 127 mem-ber-States are represented on the Legal Committee. The resolution covers all forms of interference with civil air travel, but leaves to the International Civil Aviation Organisation the actual establishment of effective measures against such interference. The 1.C.A.0. meets next month at The Hague.
