Baxendale (Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, Greymouth), 20-12. Hewart is the owner of
New City Hotel, Wellington, and Corbett holds the licence of the Eastbourne Hotel. Baxendale’s four, which was attempting to win the tournament for the third time, comprised G. H. Humphries, a retired hotel-keeper, W. Blackie, iicencee of the Oxford Hotel, Christchurch, and R. Madden, who manages the Washdyke Hotel.

MacIndoe, Ltd (Auckland) beat Caledonian Hotel (Wellington; Barretts beat Commercial Hotel (Timaru); Reg Collins, Ltd (Wellington) beat Midland Hotel (Wellington); Duke of Edinburgh beat Nae-nae Hotel (Lower Hutt).
