India buys Canberras
(N.I. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The Indian Government has bought the 10 R.NZ.A.F. Canberra bombers which were replaced by Skyhawks recently, the secretary of the Government Stores Board said today. “The Canberras have been in service with the R.N.Z.A.F. for a number of years and their sale followed a worid-wide call for tenders issued by the board,” he said. The board has not disclosed the price. R.N.Z.A.F. pilots will fly the Canberras to India, and two of the aircraft have already left.
