fN.Z, Press Association) WELLINGTON. Teaching professionals are now eligible to play in the Wilding Shield and Nunneley Casket representative tennis competitions. This was decided yesterday at a council meeting of the national association, which gave full support to a remit from Waikato.
Golf.—One hole at the New Zealand P.G.A. championship at Mount Maunganui from January 6-9 will have a $4OOO prize. It is the 149-yard fourth—and the first professional to sink his tee shot there will get the money. It brings the total prize money for the tournament to $17,500.
