POULTRY DISEASE

Veterinarians 9 course Latest developments in poultry-disease control and prevention will be studied by 13 Department of Agriculture veterinarians at a fiveday refresher course later this month. ' Discussion will centre round disease prevention and control, and the related policies of the Department’s Animal and Health Division. Other items in the course include visits to the Poultry Research Centre at Massey University and to modem poultry farms near Wanganui to study management practices related to disease control. The course is the third of its kind, and is being held at the department’s Flock House Farm of Instruction, near Bulls, from November 16 to 20. Instructors will- include .poultry specialists from the Farm Advisory and the Animal Health Divisions of the department. Veterinarians attending from the South Island will be Messrs V. H. Menrath (Christchurch), R. C. S. Hedgeman and C. D. Anderson (Dunedin), R. G. Gumbrell (Lincoln), and Dr W. F. Bendy (Blenheim).
