Shearers’ rate
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 7. The new all-inclusive rate for shearers will be $l2 for every 100 sheep shorn. A joint statement by the sheepowners’ Union of Employers and the Workers’ Union today said that agreement had been reached in conciliation on a new award for shearers and shed workers. In addition to the new rates for shearers, adjustments had been made to the rates for shedhands and other hourly and daily workers. Details would be issued as soon as the Arbitration Court ratified the new award.
