First-day winner fancied again
CFrom Out Own Reporter) WESTPORT. Silver Fountain, which beat the milers so well on the opening day, should have little difficulty coping with the extra two furlongs of the Buller Hotels' Handicap, the first leg of the Westport Jockey Club's T.A.B, double today. The Blenheim trained mare l managed this distance success-; fully in the Fendalton Handicap at the last New Zealand Cup meeting. Besides Silver Fountain, Lady Glory may benefit most if track conditions improved. Capasco, which seems to be improving with racing, is also fancied. General Boy, which petered out on Saturday in the mile, is also in the Stewards’ Handicap for sprinters. Watchman, which did not race on Saturdav, is an-! other acceptor In both open events.
Strad looks likely to win his! fourth race within a month and
his third on the West Coast circuit in the second leg, the Farewell Hack Handicap. His strongest rival could be Star Tume, especially if the track improves.
