Whitebait drops
(From Our Own Reporter)
WESTPORT, Oct. 11. Although they have failed to make any big catches in their own area since the beginning of the season on September 1, Buller whitebaiters have been concerned to see the price paid by agents falling quickly from $1.40 per lb, to $1.25,
co $1 and to 80c last week. The reason was a rush of fish to the Christchurch market from Westland. Only rarely was whitebait so cheap in the Buller last season.
