Caversham in draw (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Waterside (Wellington) and Caversham (Dunedin) drew, 0-0, in their Rothmans National Soccer League play-off match at Rugby League Path, Wellington, on Saturday. The Dunedin club looked a reasonable footballing side everywhere except in front of the goal and both sides played poorly in the second half after a promising first spell. Although the Waterside forwards did not manage to score, they did show some improvement over their performance against Mount Albert in Auckland on the previous Saturday. A. Loomes had two headers scrambled off the line by a desperate Caversham defence, the second time late in the second half when most Waterside supporters believed the ball had actually crossed the goal line; However, Caversham, too had its chances to score, the club’s player-coach, D. Daniels, twice being off target Caversham will play Mount Albert in Auckland today in the third match of the home-and-away series between the three clubs to find the two who will enter the enlarged national league next season.
