OWNER ON TRIAL

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA. A Rotorua owner-trainer, John Thompson, was on Friday committed for trial in the Hamilton Supreme Court on a charge of forging a Racing Conference apprenticeship agreement. Thompson (Mr D. G. P. Russell) pleaded not guilty to the charge after depositions were heard by Messrs J. L. Witheron and A. A. Meihana, Justices of the Peace, in the Rotorua Magistrate’s Court. They dismissed a second charge which alleged Thompson uttered the document. The accused was allowed bail to $3OO and will go for trial during the November session of the Hamilton Supreme Court.
