Stowaway Dog

A young black spaniel, wearing a Lyttelton collar has arrived in Wellington, and because the Railways Department has no record of its being consigned on any of the ferry services, it is thought to have stowed away on a ship. Railway workers found the dog wandering on the Wellington wharves. The S.P.C.A. took it in charge and passed on the number to the Christchurch branch. The collar number was traced to Mr G. D. Williams, of Lyttelton, but he explained that he had found the dog wandering and had given it a collar from his dog. The spaniel had disappeared some time ago.

The Wellington S.P.C.A. is looking after the dog, which is in excellent condition, in its pound.
