St Andrew’s Chaplain
The Rev. W. M. Hendrie, of Chalmers Church, Timaru, will become chaplain of St Andrew’s College. Educated at Glasgow High School, Glasgow University and Trinity College, Mr Hendrie served as assistant to Dr G. McLeod, and as minister at Bervie before coming to New Zealand in 1949 to become youth director to the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. In 1958 he became minister of St Giles, Papanui. During his term there, Re served for several years as a member of St Andrew’s College board of governors. Since 1965 he has been at Chalmers Church. Mr Hendrie, who will replace the Rev. W. J Schrader, will take up his appointment at the beginning of next year.
