AUCKLAND, September 6. A 56-year-old woman will appear in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court tomorrow charged with attempting to steal the Avondale Jockey Club’s $2(1.895 jackpot on Saturday. After the running .of the last race on the second day of the club’s spring meeting, totalisator officials called in police to investigate the presentation of a jackpot ticket. The police then interviewed a woman and charged her with attempted theft. Four entrants who picked four winners each won a $5223.75 share of the pool.
