Immigration
Sir, —I agree with “Trojan” concerning American immigrants, I also strongly object to Italians, French and Belgian immigrants being brought to New Zealand as future New Zealand citizens. They will be Roman Catholics with a strict ultra-conserva-tive political outlook arid could take away our remaining progressive social reforms —so hard-won. We have no desire whatever to be embroiled in Vatican laws. Our present Government should be ashamed that its decadent policies have resulted in thousands of New Zealanders leav. ing the country, causing the worker shortage.—Yours, etc., CONCERNED.
