Indoor Bowls’ Winners
A. Williamson, R. Watkin and Mrs R. Watkin won the Roger Foote Cup when they beat Mesdames M. Coad, O. Baker and P. Kennedy, 16-14, in the final of the Arawa Indoor Bowls Club’s annual 50/50 threes tournament. Of the 150 entries, 51 qualified for post-section play. Results: Quarter - finals: Mrs Coad (Arawa) 7, Mrs S. Hecker (North New Brighton) 6; J. Kelly (New Brighton R.S.A.) 11, V. Curtis (Arawa) 4; Mrs E. Claydon (Arawa) 11, J. Elcock (Yaldhurst) 9; Williamson (Fernleaf) 6, .J. McGuigan (Fernleaf) 5. Semi-finals: Mrs Coad 13, Kelly 4; Williamson 12, Mrs Claydon 2.
