U Thant’s Address
Sir,—Addressing the 1500 delegates from 100 coqntries in realistic and challenging words, U Thant surely stirred not only those who heard him but all who care about people and the world we live in. Each country, and each person, lines up for his creative and progressive ideas, or supports the $2OO billion yearly armament policies to keep one another in check, now
dominating the world scene. To stem the destructive tide ; alongside a man of U Thant’s spiritual stature, or comfortably drift with the prevailing suicidal policies, is your■ choice, and mine.—Yours, etc., N. BECK. August 26, 1970.
