Drought Aid Ends
Drought relief assistance in the area between the Rakaia and. Conway Rivers on hay, grain, meals, roots and the cartage of stock to grazing ceased from yesterday. But in a joint statement the chairmen of the Central and North Canterbury Drought Relief Committees (Messrs R. G. Jolly and R. A. Milne) said yesterday that to qualify for assistance stock that was still out on grazing had to be returned by September 30. All outstanding claims for drought assistance had to'be lodged by November 30, they added.
