Saved By Pantyhose

(Tt.Z. Preet AteociaUon) AUCKLAND, August 20. Seven passengers from the Oronsay were saved by a pair of pantyhose yesterday. Early this morning, six Australians and an American : hired a station waggon in i Auckland to visit Rotorua and Tauranga. Not long before darkness 1 fell, they found that the wag-'

gon’s fan belt had broken—and they were well over 100 miles from Auckland. The Oronsay was due to sail at 11 p.m. Three of the passengers were girls. Before long a substitute fan belt was made from a pair of pantyhose. This enabled the vehicle to get to a Katikati garage. Re-equipped with a new fan belt, the vehicle got the party to their ship on time.
