Plane May Fly After 30 Years

(N.Z. Press Association; BLENHEIM, Aug. 17. An aircraft which has not flown for 30 years may fly again. It is a Simmons Spartan biplane, which has been acquired by the Golden Age Flying Society from Mr S. J. Lister, of Temuka. Restoration work will be done at Omaka aerodrome. The Spartan was once owned by the Marlborough Aero Club. It was badly damaged in a crash at Omaka in 1933, and sold to New Zealand Airways, Timaru, '-hich rebuilt it

It was bought by Mr Lister in 1937 who used it for some years.

It bears the registration letters ZK-ABZ.

Society members are seeking an original engine for the aircraft

The Spartan was brought by road from Temuka to Blenheim at the week-end.
