Date Set For TV Inquiry
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 17. The inquiry by the New Zealand Broadcasting Authority into the need for extension of television services will open in Wellington on August 31. The scope of the inquiry will include such questions as the need for second or further television channels, whether they should be run by the N.Z.B.C. or by commercial or other bodies, the composition of programmes, and total hours of transmission.
About 35 written submissions from interested parties had been received by today, the closing date, a spokestnan for the authority said.
