BODIES IN SHACK

fN.Z. Press Association) WHAKATANE, Aug. 18. A post-mortem report has confirmed that a 46-year-old man and his adopted son and daughter, aged 9 and 11, respectively, died in a shack at Matahi, eight miles from Waimana, from asphyxiation. Police have. not yet been able to issue the names of the deceased and are still seeking a- relative believed to be in Rotorua. The man's wife died in February. Police investigating the reported discovery of a body went into the shack and found a baby bath containing the remains of a charcoal fire near a bed. Three bodies were huddled together on the bed. The man and his two children were seen alive last Friday.
