ADVERTISING ESSAY
Ashburton Boy First Mark Lewington, a pupil of Ashburton. College, has won first prize in a national essay competition for senior secondary school pupils. The subject for the contest, which was promoted by the Association of New Zealand Advertisers, was "The True Role of Advertising in Society.” The second prize was awarded to James Mora of the Otago Boys’ High School, and Christina Milligan, of St Mary’s College, Gisborne, was third.
The judge. Professor G. Fogelberg, head of business administration at Victoria University, Wellington, said that the winning entries were of a very high standard.
