Relaxation In Southland

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, July 26. A slight relaxation of the embargo placed on the movement of potatoes out of Southland and the Kelso dis- > trict after the discovery of 'wart disease in the area has I been announced today by the {Department of Agriculture’s field superintendent in Invercargill (Mr A. R. Rankin)/ Certified seed of the Red ■ King, King Edward and Epi-j cure varieties which meets; rigid requirements may now be sent to growers in the Bruce, Taieri and Clutha counties and to Sawyers Bay, Mr Rankin said. The lines must first be thoroughly inspected by a department's officer, and re-; ceivers of them must under-; take to allow the department' to inspect their crops at digging. j The Jersey Bennes andj ■ Ham Hardy varieties are excluded from the new relaxation, Mr Rankin said. Other varieties will be considered on request
