WELSH TOUR
Plans For Next Year
Nagotlatiens are In hand tar the full Welsh national soccer team to tour Now Zealand next year, probably In May or June.
Details of the negotiations were given by Messrs J. Cowie and C. J. Dempsey, the New Zealand Football Association's delegates to the World Cup. finals in Mexico recently, to the council of the N.Z.F.A. at the week-end. The Welshmen would play five games in New Zealand and three outside the country, under the tour to be promoted by the N.Z.F.A. The council also decided that this year's final of the Gillette Chatham Cup, if there is no decisive score in goals, will not be decided on corners in extra time.
Should goals be level after extra time, the final will be replayed, in the centre of the visiting team should one of the finalists be from Wellington, or by ballot if both finalists are from outside the capital city. If necessary, a second replay will be held, after which, if scores are again level, the two finalists will share the cup. The council decided not to make an entry in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich because of the large number of the present national representatives being under professional contract. Council delegates were unanimous that a transfer deadline of June 30 should apply in every centre and for all grades from the 1971 season.
