If he were responsible for education in Auckland he : would find ways and means to bring children from tbe i Polynesian and Maori com- | munities face to face with education at three years of age, Mr W. W. Freer, member of Parliament for Mount Albert, said. He was speaking at an Education Week panel at the Avondale Primary School. Mr Freer said that although attitudes had changed, not enough was being done for those using English as a second language. "We will not resolve the problem by starting when a child goes to primary school,” he said.
