Former S.M. Dies

(N.Z. Press Association l GISBORNE, July 26.

A former stipendiary magistrate in Gisborne, Mr Leslie Norman Ritchie, died suddenly in Ohakune yesterday. Born in Dunedin in 1897, Mr Ritchie was educated at Otago Boys’ High School and qualified as a solicitor while attending the University of Otago. He was admitted to legal practice in 1919. Mr Ritchie practised law in Raetihi and Ohakune before his appointment as a magistrate in 1954. His first appointment on the bench was to Christchurch, and he went to. Gisborne in 1958 in succession to the late Mr E. L. Walton, S.M.
