More Huts For Peru

Three more prefabricated huts and three more tons of corrugated iron have been ordered by the New Zealand Red Cross Society, making 27 huts and 13 tons of iron, which together with 40 cases of clothing are being sent to Peru in the Cretic, leaving Auckland next month. In addition $5418 forwarded to the League of Red Cross Societies in Geneva has already been used for providing urgent medicaments for Peru. The design of the latest huts has been slightly altered by the manufacturers to permit three to be put together in a cross-shaped pattern to form either a small hospital, dining blocks or recreation room.

The society thanked all those who gave so generously and whose gifts enabled practical assistance to be given.
