CANTERBURY IN FINAL
The Canterbury division II badminton team beat Otago 12 matches to 4 at Dunedin on Saturday to win the South Island section of the division.
Canterbury will play the North Island section winner (probably Auckland) in Christchurch in a fortnight. North Island has dominated the section over the last decade, but Canterbury’s coach (Mr B. W. Lang lost to H. Gillan. 545. 18-16, 845; G. Ford beat W. Preddy, 15-9, 1745; B. Wylie beat J. Henderson, 15-4, 15-8.
