N.A.C. Route Losses

Sir, —Recently the National Airways Corporation advised that only two scheduled services, other than main trunk routes, have shown a profit. All others, including the Wellington - Nelson WestportHokitika service which N.A.C. chose to name, ran at a loss. I wish to inquire which were the two paying minor services: also how the Christ-church-to-Hokitika and return transalpine service fared

during the last 12 months.— Yours, etc., HIGH FLYER. July 12, 1970. [Mr A. G. Feslier, public relations manager for the National Airways Corporation, replies: “The two profitable services were: (1) AucklandNapier, $10,287; (2) Auck-land-Palmerston North-Nel-son-Christchurch, $892. Christchurch - Hokitika lost $19,075.”]
