K-Cup Team Named

The Canterbury Women’s Hockey Association has announced the following team fo take part in the national tournament for the K Cup at Ashburton from August 29 to September 5: J. Hamilton (Carlton), D. McKinnel (Digbys), J. Capstick (Harewood), captain, J. Poulsen (Harewood), M. Rankin (Harewood), S. Comer (Burn-, side), A. Ruston (Aranui), vicecaptain, J. Claridge (Harewood), S. Cowles (Aranui), K. McDonald (University), L. Bayliss (Harewood). L. Rutledge (Harewood). M. Waapu (Carlton), J. Mouat (Burnside). New caps in this team are McKinnel. a fast and bustling back, and Poulsen, a steady, unobstrusive player in the backs. J. Claridge, the new half back, has previous turnament experience in the Canterbury B teain. as has J. Hamilton, this year s goal-keeper. M. Waapu, new to Canterbury hockey, is certainly no newcomer to tournament hockey. She had several years’ experience as right-wing for the national champion. Hawke's Bay.
