Computer Display

A computer demonstration and display will be held -it Ham on June 27 by the University of Canterbury Electronics Society. The society’s secretary flijr K. Wilkinson) said that the demonstration would be open to the public in the afternoon and evening. About Jo firms throughout the Dominion had booked space.

A wide range of equipment, including electronic desk calculators, business systertls, digital computers and terminal units will be provided by the accounting, management, scientific and technioal organisations taking part. The university’s computer centre will be open and the public will be able to see the IBM 360 computer which handles most major requirements. Mr Wilkinson said that the society, which had prepared the display, now had about 80 members and was five years old.
